Tour Itinerary
DAY 01: Arrival in Kigali – Rwanda
Pickup from airport and transfer to your Hotel in Kigali city and the surrounding areas. Overnight and Dinner – Hotel Des Mille Collins
DAY 02: Transfer to Bukavu- DR Congo
In the morning hours, you will be picked by the driver from your hotel in Kigali and head to southwards to Cyangugu boarder on the way to Bukavu in DR Congo. You will have a stopover in Butare to pay a visit to the national museum of Rwanda, the king’s palace in Nyanza, and the Rwanda genocide memorial site. Have lunch and continue on a scenic journey to Bukavu with wonderful views of the hills in Rwanda through the tropical forest of Nyungwe forests and a clear view of Lake Kivu.
Dinner and overnight at CoCo Lodge (Luxury)/Orchid safari Lodge (Mid Range)/Hotel Horizon (Budget)
DAY 03: Lowland Gorilla tracking tour in KahuziBiega – DR Congo
In the morning, you will go for the memorable adventure of tracking the lowland gorillas in Kahuzi Biega National park. Tracking lowland Gorillas is so amazing, they differ from the mountain gorillas, the lowland gorillas are very big in size, usually takes 1-3 hours tracking the lowland Gorillas. The lowland Gorillas are well known for staying in bigger families as compared to mountain gorillas; that day you will register a memorable safari experience once you meet the amazing Gorillas! After tracking, you will go for a nature walk in the Kahuzi Biega park and visit Tshibati waterfalls, visit Bukavu town, Mbayo tea plantations, the research centre and the surrounding traditional homes. Return to the hotel for dinner and overnight.
DAY 04: Transfer to Bukima in Congo
The driver will pick you very early in the morning from the hotel or Airport in Kigali and he will brief you on the safari. You will then transfer to Bukima in Congo and the journey takes 4 hours to arrive to Goma town where you will have lunch stop. He will continue driving after lunch to Bukima where you will spend overnight. Dinner and overnight

DAY 05: Mountain Gorilla trekking in Virunga National Park- DR Congo
After your early morning breakfast, your guide will drive you to the Park Headquarters for briefing and joining others for briefing before heading into the Virunga forest for your gorilla trek. This trek can last for between 30 minutes to 7 hours depending on the location of mountain gorilla family you are allocated for trekking on that particular day. Once you find the gorillas, you will be allowed to spend one hour with them while observing their behavior, taking photographs and then after the one hour encounter with the gorillas you return to the Park Headquarters to end the trek.

DAY 06: Drive to Kigali International Airport to end the trip
You will be driven back to Kigali for your post-tour accommodation or you may choose to fly out of Kigali on the last day of your tour. Since you will use the same route back, you will have another stop at the genocide museum, Kigali side markets, and buying souvenirs or to just relax before continuing to Kigali. You’ll be dropped off at the airport (or hotel)
