5 days Kidepo Valley National Park safari offers the greatest wilderness experience untouched with amazing wildlife in Uganda. The safari features a long drive 559km from Kampala passing across different landscapes into far north eastern Uganda bordering South Sudan and north west Kenya. This safari features a drive through the vast beautiful savannah plains of northern Uganda, a visit to the Kanangarok hot springs, rare sightings and a cultural visit to the unique IK people on mount morungole.
Itinerary
Day 1: Ziwa Rhinos – Gulu town (Approx. drive time 5hrs)
Early morning, Transfer to Gulu town located in Northern Uganda. Stop over at the Ziwa Rhino sanctuary for a 2hr tracking experience. We will have Lunch at Amuka Lodge. Following lunch transfer to Gulu town for overnight at Bomah Hotel Gulu or African Roots Gulu. Enjoy the beautiful landscape and the typical Ugandan villages and farms along the way for most part of the journey. You can also observe the after effect of the war in this area and how the people of Northern Uganda are rebuilding their lives through reconstruction of old homesteads, farming and local trade in the roadside Markets. Dinner and over night. Accommodation: Bomah Hotel Gulu or African Roots Gulu (BB)
Day 2: Kidepo Valley National park (approx. drive time)
Following early morning Breakfast, we will proceed onwards to Kidepo Valley National Park driving through villages and farm fields arriving on time for lunch and Dinner at Kidepo Savannah Lodge or similar (FB). Kidepo ranks among Africa’s finest wildernesses. In the heart of the national park, a savanna landscape extends in all directions, far beyond the gazetted area, towards horizons outlined by distant mountain ranges. Evening Sun downer game drive in the African Savannah is an amazing experience!
Day 3: Morning Game drive in the Savannah landscapes
Start with an early breakfast and then go for a game drive along the trails of Kidepo Valley. The park inhabits one of the most exciting faunas of any Ugandan parks, with over 80 species of mammals several of which are endemic to Kidepo National Park like the cheetah, the striped hyena the caracal and over 465 bird species including the ostriches. Return for Lunch followed with an afternoon nature walk.
Day 4: Cultural Encounter with the Karamojong people
Following breakfast, you will drive to a Karamojong village to learn more about their culture, music and dance. Karamoja has a cattle culture and the Karamojong are known as notorious cattle raiders. Unlike most other Ugandans, many Karamojong people shun western-style clothes and instead wear “traditional” dress of a blanket -like shawl, often in red and black. The women wear elaborate bead work. After Lunch proceed to Gulu town for Dinner and overnight at Gulu Bomah Hotel.
Day 5: Reserved for Departure from Entebbe
Following early breakfast, We will transfer back to Entebbe. Stop for Lunch in Kampala

Most nationalities require a visa to enter Uganda which can be obtained on arrival for USD50 per person, single entry. Passports must be valid for a minimum of 6 months.
