Gorilla Trekking in Uganda:
Gorilla trekking in Uganda is conducted in protected areas of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park 1.0521° S, 29.6201° E and Mgahinga Gorilla National Park. Bwindi Impenetrable dominates gorilla activity in the land. Having four sectors of Rushaga, Buhoma, Ruhija and Nkuringo, these provide safe grounds to trek over 12 habituated gorilla families. Mgahinga Gorilla National Park has one habituated gorilla family with only 8 slots of gorilla permits a viable for trekking per day.

– Gorilla Permits:
For any gorilla trekking or habituation experience, a gorilla permit is required per person, per activity. In cases of double gorilla trekking, 2 gorilla permits will be required. The Gorilla trekking permit costs USD800 for foreign non residents, USD700 for foreign residents and 300K Ugx for East Africans per person

The best time for Gorilla trekking: Gorilla trekking is open whole year through out, but alternatively considering June to August and December to February always provide more favorable times to trekking the gentle giants.

Gorilla Trekking Duration is between 2-8 hours, depending on gorilla group and their location. How to Book a gorilla trekking permit Information:

– Booking a gorilla permit is at least 3-6 months to 2 years in advance, the longer the booking period, offers perfect fit of gorilla trekking especially during peak season
– Your Tour operator will require you to provide personal information like passport details while making reservations and payments for the gorilla permits. Be willing to comply

– Travelling beyond your country boundary, Ensure you have a valid passport and yellow fever vaccination and any other vaccinations as maybe requested by your local tour operator.
